The Corruption and Crime Commission has uncovered no evidence of serious misconduct by any elected official or current or former officer of the City of Perth in relation to the departure of the former CEO, Gary Stevenson.
The former CEO left the position in January 2016 and, due to concerns about the circumstances of his departure, the Commission conducted a preliminary investigation.
The inquiries included a number of private examinations which were concluded last week.
In order to protect the integrity of an inquiry and reputations, the Commission does not generally confirm or deny whether or not it is undertaking an investigation.
The Commission has made a statement in relation to the outcome of this preliminary investigation as a matter of fairness to all concerned in view of speculation in a recently published article.
