The Commission pulls back the curtains for Law Week 2024

The Commission may investigate allegations of corruption (serious misconduct) by public officers using particular powers to obtain information. The Commission may examine a witness and require the production of records. Usually, an examination is conducted in private, and evidence given remains secret. For Law Week, the Commission created a portion of a mock examination of a fictitious public officer.

The Corruption and Crime Commission’s Review of Misconduct Risks Within the Department of Finance: Lessons for all Government Authorities has been tabled in State Parliament.


The report outlines the action taken by the Department of Finance (the Department) in response to three matters of alleged serious misconduct and its governance arrangements.  All three matters related to conflicts of interest held by Finance staff involved in procurement processes.

 

JSCCCC Hearings - Commissioner McKechnie's Opening Statement

On 8 May 2024, the Joint Standing Committee on the Corruption and Crime Commission held hearings regarding the Commission and its processes. Commissioner John McKechnie provided an opening statement, celebrating the Commission's twentieth anniversary and highlighting matters of relevance.

Annual Report 2022 - 2023

​The Corruption and Crime Commission’s Annual Report 2022-23 has been tabled in State Parliament. The report provides a comprehensive overview of a productive year for the Commission, where 5,895 allegations were received.

Further review of the Department of Transport's management of unlawful access to TRELIS

 

The Corruption and Crime Commission has tabled a report in Parliament, outlining improvements made by the Department of Transport to mitigate serious misconduct risks relating to unlawful access to the Transport Executive and Licensing Information System, known as TRELIS.
