Further review of the Department of Transport's management of unlawful access to TRELIS

The Corruption and Crime Commission tabled a report in State Parliament today warning of serious misconduct and corruption risks when good governance is lacking, usual procedures aren’t followed, and when consultants act as public servants.

The report details Project Stella Orion - a multi-stage housing development in the City of Cockburn. Stage 1 of the development was successfully completed by private interests. 

CCC reports on review of WA Police misconduct investigation

 

The Corruption and Crime Commission has today tabled in State Parliament a Report on oversight of a police investigation into an arrest for disorderly conduct following its monitoring and review of the way WA Police dealt with an allegation of misconduct by an officer.

The matter relates to the arrest of Mr X on 8 May 2020, who was charged with Disorderly Behaviour and, three days later, Assault Public Officer. 

Commission oversight reveals serious misconduct

The Corruption and Crime Commission has tabled in Parliament a report detailing a Police Sergeant’s unacceptable treatment of a man in custody, and formed an opinion of serious misconduct against the officer.

Its inquiry follows an ‘inadequate’ managerial investigation by WA Police and underlines the importance of the Commission’s oversight role.

CCC investigation highlights misconduct risk

The Corruption and Crime Commission has today tabled a report in Parliament following its preliminary investigation into an allegation of serious misconduct at Rockingham General Hospital.

The allegation related to the death certification process for patient Mr Kevin Reid, who died at the hospital in September 2022.

It was alleged that an executive officer at the hospital attempted to coerce a medical services registrar into changing the date of death on Mr Reid’s death certificate.
