Annual Report 2017-18

The CCC tabled its 2017-18 Annual Report in State Parliament on Thursday 20 September 2018, highlighting a year of increased productivity and improved efficiency.

Some key results throughout 2017-18 included:

  • 2,866 notifications were received from public authorities and the community;
  • from these notifications, 5,051 allegations were assessed with 1,675 of these allegations requiring further action;
  • 94.5 per cent of notifications were assessed within three-months of being received;
  • 62 investigations were conducted and 13 reports were tabled in Parliament containing 49 recommendations to public authorities; and
  • the average time taken to complete an investigation rose slightly to 317 days, from 297 days in 2016-17, and down from 427 days in 2015-16.

The Commission relocated to new premises in Northbridge. One of the major benefits from the relocation is improved efficiency, with two purpose-built public examination rooms enabling examinations to be conducted simultaneously for the first time.
